Remz Flowfile Ft. Stefan Brandow 21yo, from Pittsburgh, PA.
Whatup Stefan..
- What's up everyone, I'm Stefan Brandow, I'm 21 years old, originally from a small town in Upstate New York called Bath, now living in Pittsburgh, PA with my wonderful and beautiful girlfriend Kaitlyn. Extremely influenced by electro, graphic design, stunts, and wacky blading!
How is your skating scene out there?
- Growing up I skated a lot in Rochester, NY as my town had nothing to skate. It really molded my creativity because I always had to find stuff to skate where there wasn't anything. Now that I live in Pittsburgh, I'm lucky enough to skate some of the best spots I've ever seen. We have some REALLY good and REALLY underrated kids in the area, as well as some of the most talented groms around. We're lucky enough to have a lot of beautiful outdoor skateparks as well. Unfortunately our only indoor park is garbage!
Recently I've been involved with Bakerized Skateshop in Columbus, OH organizing sessions, designing shirts, and just helping it grow. This past summer I worked at Mr. Smalls skatepark where we had weekly blade session on Wednesday nights.
I love skating with the younger generation here because they all get so excited about every trick they do! I think us "older" guys forget how much fun blading can be no matter where it's done. The young ones here really inspire me.
You and Remz, how did it all happen?
- I started skating Remz at the beginning of this summer. The skates were completely not what I thought they would be at all. They did everything I ever wanted a skate to do for me! I can tie them up super super tight and feel them on my feet while still having the flex to do whatever I can think of. I can go from doing a big gap to doing a cess slide with no problem which I didn't think was possible for any skate to handle!
I was working at Mr. Smalls when I first started skating them. The park is owned by Chris Edwards who at the time just started skating the OS3's. Chris saw how much I loved the skates and one day called Kato out of the blue and told him he thought I should be on the team. For the godfather of rollerblading to do that for you is an incredible feeling and quite the honor! I sent Kato an edit, and met him at the Summer Xtravaganza contest at the park. From then it was on!
To have a Flowfile for Remz makes me feel like all my hard work (and hard falls!) have finally paid off. I worked incredibly hard on this profile and I'm proud to say it's my best yet. These skates finally allow me to blade how I want to blade, and I will be a Remz supporter as long as I can strap up and roll out! Thank you Kato, Chris, and Sam Baker for thinking my skating is dope enough to be supported. You're the man Kato, rollerblading needs more people like you! Thank you to James Short for always believing in me. R.I.P. buddy! Every trick I land is for you! Thank you to all my friends and everyone I've met through skating, but most importantly I want to thank my parents and girlfriend for being the most supportive people of my skating. I love you all!
